The Minnesota Vikings are signing defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a two-year, $30-million deal, according to Tom Pelissero.
Reports indicated that the two sides were closing in on a contract. This was after the 49ers recently released Hargrave after two seasons in the San Fran.
San Francisco signed Hargrave to a four-year, $84-million deal in 2023. He was with the Philadelphia Eagles for three years before landing with the 49ers.
Hargrave is coming off a torn triceps injury that forced him to miss 14 games last season. His best season came in 2022 with Philadelphia, where he racked up 60 tackles and 11 sacks.
Hargrave, 32, has 55 tackles for loss and 45 sacks in 130 career games.
Minnesota has been super active this offseason, signing guard Will Fries, cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, and defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. It also retained Byron Murphy on a lucrative deal, brought back Aaron Jones, and even traded for Jordan Mason.
The only real question left with Minnesota is their quarterback, where rumors are it’s between J.J. McCarthy or Aaron Rodgers.
