In Micah Shrewsberry second season as the head coach of Notre Dame Basketball, the Fighting Irish are 3-0 to start the season. Notre Dame will be a team that plays competitive basketball in the ACC and may be a team to fear come tournament time.
After only three games it is a stretch, yet Notre Dame has looked great on both ends of the floor. The first true test of the season will come next Tuesday as they are set to face off against Rutgers.
Notre Dame opened the season against Stonehill and did what a good team is supposed to do. The Fighting Irish won by 29 points. In the second game against a good mid major in Buffalo, Notre Dame still looked dominant, even though only winning by 9.
Notre Dame Basketball Dominates Georgetown
Then the game on Saturday against Georgetown, who is looking for their own turn around since hiring Ed Cooley. Notre Dame would go into the game against Georgetown as 2.5 point favorites and walk away with a 21 point win.
Getting production from all angles as Notre Dame had all five starters score at least 8 points against Georgetown. Matt Allocco led the way with 17 points, 7 assist, and 5 rebounds from the point guard position.
Markus Burton chipped in 16 points and Tae Davis scored 13. Notre Dame as a team dominated the rebounding numbers and held Georgetown to 31% shooting. While Notre Dame shot the ball 59% from the floor.
Only three games in, yet the Notre Dame Basketball program could be bracket busters come March.
