Wisconsin basketball took on UT Rio Grande Valley tonight, you know the Vaqueros! Wisconsin came into the game as 21.5 favorites coming off of a huge win against Arizona on Friday.
Teams get caught in these trap spots, coming off of a huge win or having a huge game looming. Wisconsin would hold off UT Rio Grande Valley and walk away with an 87-84 victory.
However, it was nothing pretty for Wisconsin fans. Teams who think competing comes with an on/off switch usually can’t find it when they need it most. Let that sink in.
Who knows if this is a sign of things to come later in this season, hopefully for Wisconsin’s sake, this is a learning lesson and a stepping stone. Show up, give your all, take care of business.
John Blackwell lead the way for Wisconsin with 30 points and 7 rebounds, he led in both categories. The Badgers needed every single bit of his 30 point output.
John Tonje, who scored 41 on Friday against Arizona had the teams second most points tallying in 19 on 5 shots from the floor. Getting to the free throw line is an art that Tonje has mastered, shooting 10-10 from the line.
It is only November, yet it is known world wide that the Madness is real and the Madness has begun. Wisconsin almost became it’s latest victim of upsets in college basketball.
