The Houston Texans have acquired wide receiver Christian Kirk in exchange for a 2026 seventh round pick from the Texans. The Jaguars reportedly planned on cutting Kirk prior to finding a trade partner.
Houston will take on the final year and the $16.5 million remaining on Kirk’s contract, according to Tom Pelissero.
Kirk spent three seasons in Jacksonville after the Jaguars signed him to a four-year, $72-million contract in 2022. His best season for the team came in his first year with the Jaguars, when he set career highs with 84 receptions, 1,108 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Houston will pair Kirk with star receiver Nico Collins for quarterback C.J. Stroud. The Texans also are slated to have wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Robert Woods enter free agency next week.
The Jaguars also reportedly have released tight end Evan Engram, receiver Josh Reynolds, returner Devin Duvernay, and cornerback Ronald Darby.
