The Chicago Bears are signing former Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, sources told Adam Schefter.
Jarrett’s deal is for three years and is worth $43.5 million, including $28.5 million guaranteed, Schefter adds. Jarrett is the Bears’ latest defensive acquisition, after they got former Indianapolis Colt edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo.
The Falcons released Jarrett earlier in March, which saved the club $16.25 million in cap space. However, a lot of fans, and even players around the league, were shocked that the Falcons made this move.
Jarrett had been with the Falcons since they drafted him in the fifth round in 2015. The 31-year-old registered 53 total tackles, including nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, this past campaign. Jarrett was named a Pro Bowler in 2019 and 2020.
