New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI confirmed a torn ACL, head coach Brian Daboll announced Monday. This is according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Jones exited Sunday’s loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in the second quarter following a non-contact injury. He was sacked the play before, then dropped to the ground with a non-contact injury next play as he was dropping back to pass. He immediately grabbed at his right knee after going down.

The Week 9 contest was Jones’ first game in nearly a month after he missed the last three contests with a neck injury.

The season ending knee injury means the Giants quarterback will have suited up for just 6 of a possible 17 games since signing a four-year, $160 million contract extension this past offseason.

Jones is due a fully guaranteed base salary of $35.5 million in 2024

Daniel Jones has struggled mightily since his breakout 2022 campaign. Jones has thrown for two touchdowns to six interceptions while putting up a career-low 70.5 passer rating.

With Jones lost for the season, New York will likely turn to undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito until veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor returns from injured reserve.

With Daniel Jones out, the Giants season is at a crossroads. I would not be shocked if they decided to not play their best ball, and end up drafting a quarterback in this next upcoming draft. This next draft class has a lot of options at quarterback, so this could be interesting depending what pick the Giants get.
