About a week after the Connecticut Sun clinch playoff berth the deal with an injury to star Alyssa Thomas. As they are trying to focus and hone in on the playoffs, Thomas injured her leg 7 minutes into their game on Saturday night.
The Sun are currently sitting in second place in the entire league record wise with a 24-8 record. Currently 2.5 games back from the overall one seed New York Liberty.
Rollercoaster Season
The Connecticut Sun started off as the hottest team in the WNBA going 10-0 to start the season. After the amazing start the Sun found themselves struggling for a bit.
They went 8-6 over the next 14 games and went into the All-Star break with a record of 18-6. Coming back from the break the Sun found their groove again.
Going 7-3 over there last ten games and 6-2 since the break, including winning two games back to back this weekend against Mystics and the Storm.
Alyssa Thomas has been not only one of the best players for the Sun this season, but for the entire league. She represented USA in the Olympics in Paris as well.
Connecticut Sun Playoff Push
Thomas left the game with a leg injury Saturday night, and then missed Sunday’s game due to “soreness”. The feeling and word getting out to the media from the organization is that there is no rush to get her back, whenever she is ready and feeling good again she will be out there.
Thomas will have a huge impact on the Sun’s playoff run this season regarding if she will be on the floor or not.
