The Pittsburgh Steelers are giving veteran defensive lineman Cameron Heyward a new two-year, $32.25-million contract, his agent told ‘s Mike Garafolo. The deal includes $16.25 million fully guaranteed.
Heyward was previously under contract through the 2026 season, but now his new deal keeps him with the Steelers through the end of the 2027 season. His agent added that the contract is the largest ever signed by a defensive player age 36 or older.
The new deal also saves the Steelers roughly $5.5 million in cap space, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Heyward, who will be 37 when the 2026 season begins, had 3.5 sacks last year. While it was not his best season statistically, he is still a big part of the defensive line room as well as the culture.
