Starting next season, the Tennessee Titans will begin construction on a brand new “stadium.” I say that in quotes because this is just more than a stadium. This stadium should have areas to set up all around it to make it a full game day experience.
According to the Titans official website “The stadium agreement includes a new 30-year lease and non-relocation agreement between the Titans and the Sports Authority. The terms of the new agreement remove the current obligation of Nashville’s General Fund to maintain and upgrade the stadium and returns 66 acres of land to the City of Nashville previously restricted by parking lots through 2039. “
Along with that, the Titans new stadium is currently estimated at 1.75 million square feet, with a capacity of approximately 60,000. It is anticipated to bring in year-round events. Some of these aspirations include to host Super Bowls, NCAA Final Fours, College Football Playoffs, WrestleMania’s, and more. This is truly becoming a modern stadium. They will even have the stadium enclosed to host these events year round.
When will construction begin
Groundbreaking on the Titans new stadium is slated to begin in early to mid 2024, following the 2023-24 NFL season. The facility is anticipated to open in 2027.
The Titans have been looking to get the work started on a new stadium for a few years now. It finally seems that the new stadium is indeed coming, and it looks beautiful. If I had one complaint, it would be I wish the roof was retractable. This way they could bring the weather element into some games. Other than that, this stadium will be a great new home for the Tennessee Titans and their fans.
