Georgia tight end Brock Bowers officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft on Tuesday.
“Words cannot describe how thankful I am for what these last three years has brought,” Bowers wrote in a statement. “It has been an unbelievable honor and privilege to play for this university. It has given me memories that will last a lifetime.”
Widely considered the best tight end prospect of his class, Bowers is expected to be drafted early in the first round in April.
The junior enjoyed a decorated three-year stint at Georgia that included a unanimous All-American selection and two John Mackey Awards as college football’s most outstanding tight end.
Bowers caught 175 passes for 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns to go along with five rushing TDs across 40 appearances with the Bulldogs from 2021-23. He also helped Georgia win two national titles.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is coming off a relatively down season, though, as injuries limited him to 10 games, 714 yards, and six scores in 2023. He didn’t play in Saturday’s 63-3 win over Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
A matchup nightmare for opposing defenses and solid blocker, Bowers heads to the NFL as one of the most promising tight end prospects in recent memory. He headlines a TE class that also includes Texas’ Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Ohio State’s Cade Stover, among others.
Brock Bowers looks to be a pretty high overall draft pick. According to 247 Sports, they have him projected to go at pick 20 to the Buccaneers. It will be interesting to see if he makes it that far.
