After many weeks of speculation and waiting, Ezekiel Elliott has finally signed a deal. The Patriots have decided to sign the veteran back to a one year, six million dollar deal.
This signing comes to almost no shock, as rumors have been swirling for a few weeks now that Zeke would sign with the New England Patriots. This comes after the Dallas Cowboys released Elliot after seven seasons with the team.
This is a huge signing for the Patriots, as they planned to lean heavy on Rhomandre Stevenson this season. The signing of Zeke allows the Patriots to give Stevenson a breather, while the Pats can still play a good veteran back. He will turn to his collegiate number of 15 that he wore at Ohio State.
Zeke looks to bring strong and reliable back depth behind Stevenson. Last season, Zeke had 876 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns with the Cowboy’s. The Patriots will play the Cowboys in week four in Dallas. That should be a fun homecoming game for Zeke, and you can expect him to be looking for the endzone.
