No Matter who Auburn Basketball has played against early in this season, they have simply dominated. Auburn is 4-0 highlighted by a 74-69 win over Houston in Houston.
When Auburn plays a lesser team that they should blow out, they do just that! There is an old saying that I think reigns to be one of the truest in sports, “good teams win, great teams cover”. Auburn Basketball is 4-0 straight up and against the spread.
In their latest matchup against North Alabama, Auburn showed off their muscles, winning 102-69. All five starters scored at least a dozen points. Johni Broome led the way with a monster double-double, 30 points and 17 assist.
Auburn Basketball Non-Conference
Auburn has seven more non conference games before getting into the SEC play at the turn of the new year. Four of those seven games will be a true litmus test for Auburn. With three of the opponents being ranked in the top 12 in ESPN’s AP Poll.
Their very next two games are against No. 5 Iowa State at Auburn and then on the road against No. 12 Duke. Auburn will need it’s top ranked defense to show up in both matchups.
A defense that has not allowed north of 70 points all season. Bruce Pearl and this Auburn team look to be on a mission early on in this college basketball season.
After those next two tests, Auburn will take on a tough Richmond team followed by a game against Ohio State and Georgia State.
Then the last of the non-conference top 10 matchups will be in Auburn as they take on current No. 6 Purdue.
The SEC is a tough division in Basketball with north of 5 teams with a legitimate chance to win the conference. Auburn will need to continue to show what they have shown to stay at the top of the list.
Currently Auburn is co-favored to win the SEC along with Alabama, both teams currently priced at +220.
