No. 3 Gonzaga traveled to southern California on Monday night is a marquee matchup between them and San Diego State. The Bulldogs led the Aztecs wire to wire and come away with an 80-67 win.

Gonzaga has stuffed their non-conference schedule with big game after big game and thus far have aced every test.

They have beaten No. 8 Baylor on opening night, 101-63. Turned around and held on to a tough Arizona State team, 88-80. Blew out a lesser team in Umass-Lowell, 113-54. Then tonight beating San Diego State by 13.

Tonight against San Diego State Gonzaga was led by a near double-double from Graham Ike and an actual double-double from Ryan Nembhard. Ike finished with 23 points and 9 rebounds, both tied for game high with San Diego State’s Nick Boyd.

Nembhard scored 19 points to go along with his 10 assist and 4 rebounds.

Gonzaga dominated this game only shooting 25% from beyond the arc. A good sign for offense is a team that can score 80 even when the old jumper is not falling.

Gonzaga Non-Conference

The schedule has two large looming elite 8 type games coming up early December. That is where we will really see what this team is made of. I am sure at some point in these two games we will see Gonzaga with their back against the wall, and we will then see what type of fight is in this dog.

Those games are against the top two teams in my power rankings. No. 9 Kentucky on December 7th followed by No. 2 UConn on December 14th.

For those two games, I have not been as excited since my 10th birthday party.
