Due to a Wedding I will be a part of and attending (shoutout/congrats to Aaron and Sophie), we will have to combine Saturday and Sundays article. NFL Week 17 has some huge clinching scenarios on the line.

Here are my plays for the NFL Week 17 slate.

Check out the latest episodes of the JCPod and Captain By A Hook for my full breakdowns and analysis. All odds are a mix/the best number from FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.

Straights

Saturday

Chargers -5 (-120)

The Chargers need this win for the playoffs, as they are in a win and in situation. Due to that and with how bad the Patriots have been (especially in the penalty department), I will be taking the Chargers. I will not be shocked if they win this game by 10+ points, but Drake Maybe does have a chance to make this close.

Sunday

Colts -7.5 (-110)

The Giants currently control their own destiny for the number one pick in the draft. As for the Colts, the potentially might need this win to stay in the playoff hunt (assuming the Bengals win). I expect the Colts to win this game by 10+ points, as the Giants have not been the best team this season.

Saints money line (+106)

I am only taking this in assumption the Raiders will want to lose. They went from a chance at the first overall pick to currently they are 6th overall in next year’s NFL Draft. If the money line is not plus money value, I will not be taking the Saints.

Buccaneers -8 (-110)

The Panthers have been coming back to Earth a bit these last few weeks. Meanwhile, the Bucs are coming off a very tough loss to the Cowboys. I look for the Buccaneers to bounce back at home and beat the Panthers by double digits. This is a division game however, so I am scared that maybe the Panthers have something in the Bucs to be able to keep it close.

Commanders -3.5 (-115)

The Commanders are currently in a win and in situation. If they win this next game, they are in the playoffs. The Falcons also need this win to keep their hopes for the NFC South title alive. With this being only the second start for Michael Penix, I expect the Commanders to be able to come out on top. Jayden Daniels has been magical this season, and he should put on a show during Sunday Night Football.

Props

Mike Evans recieving over 83.5 receiving yards (-113) & reception over 5.5 (-128)

Mike Evans is still on track for his 1000 yard season and for some of his incentives if he has a big game.

Justin Herbert over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+104)

With the injuries that the Chargers are dealing with at running back (and JK Dobbins just being activated off IR), I expect them to need Herbert to potentially throw for a few touchdowns in the red zone.

Saquon Barkley Rush over 111.5 yards (-113)

Saquon Barkley has a chance for the rushing record. Due to that and the injury to Jalen Hurts, I will be taking Barkley’s over.

Terry McLaurin over 65.5 receiving yards (-113)

I expect Scary Terry to be involved for the Commanders. with them having a win and in scenario, it should be an all hands on deck type of night.
