It’s Monday Night Football in Week One, and we are coming off a wild high scoring slate. Fun fact, we are only 43 points away from the record for most points to open the season. Either way, this is a divisional game, so this will be a very important one to win.
Here are my leans and best bets for Monday Night Football Week One.

Straights
The Denver Broncos have never won in Arrowhead when Patrick Mahomes starts. Due to that stat, it makes me tend to lean the Chiefs. However, I do believe that Denver potentially might have one of the best defenses in the NFL, if not at least one of the top 5. Another thing I’m concerned about in this game is both quarterbacks are coming off injuries they suffered that ended both of their seasons. These came only about nine-ish months ago for these guys, so while I think they will be fine to play, it could be a mental hurdle that might take a bit to get used to.
I think if I have to make a pick to put on the record for this game, it would be the Chiefs on the money line (-134) to defend home turf. I would not be shocked at all if the Broncos win this game, but it’s hard not to take Patrick Mahomes at home in Arrowhead. My one fear is Mahomes did not play in the preseason, so he could have a slow start.
Props
Kenneth Walker over 64.5 rushing yards (-113)
With Eric Bieniemy back and the signing of Kenneth Walker, I expect for the Chiefs to run the ball more effectively and often than they did last year. While this is a very good defense, Walker should be able to get the job done.
Rashee Rice over 50+ receiving yards (-136)
If the Chiefs want to win this game, they are gonna have to run the ball well and get Rice involved. I look for Rice to get about 55-60 yards, so this over might be a close one.
Pat Bryant over 26.5 receiving yards (-113)
The one thing that scares me about this bet is Bryant being limited on reps. He is fighting to overtake Courtland Sutton as a season long goal, so there may be some wide receiver sets that Bryant is not on the field. Regardless, Sean Peyton likes him as a player and he will play tonight. I expect for him to get three catches for around 30 yards.
One bet I like but don’t love is Rashee Rice over 5.5 receptions. I have him getting five to six, so the number is a bit too perfect for me.
The three touchdown scorers I like tonight are Kenneth Walker (-120), Par Bryant (+470), & Travis Kelce (+210)
Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day
We were one Bhayshul Tuten touchdown away from hitting our Sunday Nasty Boy, and man was that a heartbreaker. Let’s try and rebound here tonight.
