For the first time, the Houston Texans will have some new uniforms.
The Houston Texans have revealed four new uniforms for the 2024 season. The uniforms are home, away, an alternate set, and Color Rush set of uniforms.
It’s the first time the Texans have changed their uniforms since the NFL debut of the franchise in 2000.
The Texans’ home uniform keeps the same “Deep Steel Blue” color as before but incorporates the team’s new secondary logo on the back of the helmets.
The alternate uniform is an all-red collection that includes a red chrome facemask. Personally for me, as a guy who played college football with a school who had ball red uniforms, this is by far my favorite.
Houston’s Color Rush jerseys bring a new color to the franchise named “H-Town Blue.” The set also features the new secondary logo on the helmet.
Doing this will make the Texans the first team in the NFL with alternate helmets that utilize a new logo.
For me, the rankings go: all red, the color rush, home uniforms, then the away.
I am not the biggest fan of white top black bottom but I will give it a chance and see how it looks. That’s why the away uniforms are 4th.
As for the Home uniforms, I do truly like them but there is not too much change to them. To me, they just a bit more modernized version of what they had, which is by no means an issue at all.
I will admit I was not the biggest fan of the color rush set at first mainly because of the logo. Now, seeing the logo with the uniforms makes me like it more. I like the appreciation for the oilers with the colors in the background, but still also showing “hey, we are the Texans!” With their main colors popping.
As for the all red, this was an easy pick for me. As said before I came from a college (Saint Xavier University) that had all red uniforms and they were by far my favorite. I love the way the Texans red looks, and making the chrome additions to the helmet is a great touch.
With a “new era” starting for the Texans, these uniforms changes look to make them pop out that little bit more. It will be cool to see when the first usages of the color rush and all red uniforms will be.
