UConn Basketball is trying to do something that has not been done since the 70’s when John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins won 3 straight national titles.

Head coach Dan Hurley has been on a mission this off season to show how hungry and motivated he and his team is. From turning down elite jobs such as Kentucky and even the NBA’s golden franchise, Los Angeles Lakers.

He has stated via social media that the season started in June. He also stated that money or any kind of clout means nothing compared to what he built and is continuing to build at UConn.

New Look UConn Basketball

He definitely has the players to compete for a third title, returning a good amount of those core players. Also adding in big name transfers and having for the third year in a row, a freshman phenom.

The new look UConn Huskies will most likely have 3 returning starters in Hassan Diarra at the point. Alex Karaban running the 4 and Samson Johnson holding down the fort at the 5 spot. Incoming transfer Aidan Mahaney will take over the 2 spot, and freshman Liam McNeeley or Solo Ball will run the three.

This team has it all, from size to shooting, to defense and rebounding, all the way to half court or fast break offense. Right now it is hard to bet against UConn Basketball winning their third title in a row.

Tonight they will start their quest as 34.5 point favorites against Sacred Heart. I will be betting them to cover because, well, why not?

I have UConn winning 98-48.
