Eight-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Tyron Smith signed a one day contract to retire with the Dallas Cowboys, sources told Ian Rapoport.
A top-10 pick by the Cowboys in 2011, Smith played 13 of his 14 NFL seasons in Dallas (last season with the New York Jets being his only time outside of Dallas). He became a cornerstone of the Cowboys offensive line, with the majority of his time coming at left tackle.
Smith made eight Pro Bowls, including seven straight from 2013-19. He was named a first-team All-Pro twice (in 2014, 2016).
Sadly, injuries slowed down Smith in the latter stages of his career, with his last fully healthy season coming in 2015. He suited up only 40 games over his final five years in the NFL.
Smith spent last season with the New York Jets. He started 10 games for the franchise.
Shout to Tyron Smith on one hell of a career!!
