MLB Bets: (08/31/2023)

Through the first three days of the week, we are sitting at an 8-3 record. (Knock on wood to avoid the jinx). Today most eyes will be on college football, including mine to some extent.
Also the MLB, only giving us four games to look at on this fine Thursday. Which left me no choice, I have one bet and a possible. The possible being the over on the Yankees game. Yet, I won a bet on the Yankees yesterday and putting my faith in them two days in a row, well I might be a fool, but I ain’t ignorant.
One bet tonight on the diamond. For my Week 1 college football bets check out that article here -> The Red Beard: NCAAF Week 1 Bets.
First Bet: Best of the NL Clash in LA
You have Spencer Strider, a Cy Young candidate, taking the mound for the Atlanta Braves. On the Dodgers side, you have Lance Lynn starting. On the surface, you think Braves win because of the starting pitching.
You have to look at this game on a deeper level however. This Dodgers lineup has been setting and breaking records all season as their hitters are having career years. They will keep this game close even if the Braves put 4 quick ones on the board against Lynn.
Pitching wise this game will be won or lost by the bullpen. Back to hitting, the Braves have also been setting and breaking records all season as they two have had career years and as a team, historic numbers.
So now that we are thinking about the hitting aspect of the game and we think the Dodgers keep it close going into the late innings even after Lynn gives up 4 quick ones.
Give me the over on this game, set at 8 and a hook. (Braves/Dodgers O 8.5 -105)
