NCAAF Bets: Week 5

We have been rolling through August and September. Feels as if football has been back for three months now, finally in the thick of things.

Teams have already lost contention for the college football playoffs while other who were not expected to make it, are building a case for themselves.

One of the first years in a while were I truly have no clue about who is the best team in the nation. Also, who is the front runner for Heisman, my bet is Jayden Daniels for LSU. Still some time to work on that however.

Here are my six favorite college football plays for this weekend that is week 5.

First Bet: How Good is Kentucky?

I have been asking this question on my show for the last three weeks as Kentucky continues to not only win, yet win by margin.

This weekend might be their toughest opponent yet, the Florida Gators come to town. Both of these SEC teams are off to a hot start. Florida has been somewhat the giant killers thus far taking on the David role.

While Kentucky has been Goliath against smaller schools. Back to my question, how good is Kentucky? This is the kind of game we find out. Give me the Wildcats at home this weekend on the money line. Kentucky wins 33-27. (Kentucky ML -118)

Second Bet: SEC Dogs against Dawgs

Georgia has done something as ugly as a Christmas sweater is you ask me with the weakest schedule you can possibly play. I believe that this strategy will bite them in the foot two or three times this season.

This weekend being the first, they take on Auburn. Since the competition level has been below the barrel so far for Georgia and they have somewhat still struggled, I will be looking for any school with some fight to back against the Dawgs.

Auburn fits this model perfectly. I do think Georgia is going to win, I just doubt that it is by margin. I also do believe there is a small chance for an upset here. Georgia wins 27-20. (Auburn +14.5 -110)

Third Bet: Fade Newwwwbraska

Michigan is coming into their second game with Coach Harbrough back. Last weekend they looked tense against a very good Rutgers team. This weekend I think they relax and we see the best version so far of this 2023 Michigan team.

It doesn’t hurt that the opponent is Nebraska, who has looked absolutely awful so far to start the season. With Michigan being a 24.5 favorite against Rutgers last week, my number has this game against Nebraska being closer to 30 than to the 17 it sits at.

There is no way Nebraska this season is better than Rutgers, give me Michigan winning big, 44-10. (Michigan -17.5 -115)

Fourth and Fifth Bet: Tx St Baby

I have been obsessed with betting Texas State since their thrilling Week 1 victory against Baylor. While it has not been a smart strategy nor has it worked out.

I made so much off of them week 1 I feel it is a must I back them each week. Yet this might be the last week I allow them to break my heart and my account.

I will be on Texas State spread and the over for the fourth straight week, at some point this is going to become insane. Texas State handles business winning 57-24. (Texas St – 5.5 -118, O 62.5 -110)

Sixth Bet: Big Dogs in the South

For the last three weeks I have been betting a simple trend, yet it has been extremely profitable. As in, it has not lost yet. I have been fading Mississippi State no matter who they play.

LSU -9.5, easy money; S. Carolina -6.5, I’ll take it. This week is does not hurt that they are playing the best team in the SEC over the last 15 seasons in Alabama.

Bama who is only a 14.5 point favorite against maybe the worst team in the conference. I am going to confidently ride Nick Saban and Alabama as I believe the defense alone is enough to win and cover this spread. Alabama wins an ugly one, 38-17. (Alabama -14.5 -118)
