St. John’s Basketball has not face too tough of a test yet this season, however the 2-0 start has been impressive for a few reasons. One being the scoreboard, winning both games by 20+ and scoring 90+ in both games as well.

In the first game against Fordham St. John’s dominating wire to wire finishing the game with a 32 point victory scoring 92 points.

In the second game of the season it seemed the team came out flat and arrogant. The result was a 4 point deficit for St. John’s basketball, 39-35. Not sure what happened in the locker room, yet, whatever it was, it worked!

St. John’s came out in the second half firing on all cylinders and completely blew the game open. Scoring a whopping 61 points in the second half alone and holding Quinnipiac to 34. The final score was 96-73 and all is well.

In the second year under Rick Pitino and with transfer Kadary Richmond at point guard the expectations are high for St. John’s.

St. John’s Basketball

The Big East conference outside of UConn feels like it is anybody’s party to claim. Might as well throw St. John’s hat in that ring as it feels like this team will be a tough out as long as the offense is what it has been.

Devion Smith and RJ Luis Jr both tally doubles-doubles in the last game against Quinnipiac. Smith with 13 points and 10 assist while Luis Jr did it with 13 rebounds and 24 points.

The Red Storm will have one more tune-up game against Wagner before taking on a tough 3 game stretch where we will get to see who they really are.

That three game stretch will be against New Mexico, Baylor, and Georgia.
