The Los Angeles Rams are signing cornerback Jaylen Watson to a three-year, $51-million contract with $34 million guaranteed, sources told Tom Pelissero.
Watson will now join former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Trent McDuffie in L.A. after the Rams traded for the star cornerback. Trading for both corners immediately improves the position that was one of the weakest for the Rams. 
The 27-year-old had been a member of the Chiefs since they selected him in the seventh round of the 2022 draft. He started 15 games last season, playing over 95% of the snaps, and managed to record 64 tackles, six passes defended, and two interceptions.
Los Angeles has been proactive in reworking its secondary after the team allowed Sam Darnold to throw for 346 yards and three touchdowns in the NFC Championship Game. If you look across their team in general at that point in the offseason as well, it was very clear that defensive back was the one position they could use a lot of help.
