Kansas City Chiefs have signed reigning Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III, sources told Tom Pelissero. Walker will ink a three-year deal worth up to $45 million, according to Ian Rapoport.
The contract includes a base of $14.35 million per year, while also including $28.7 million fully guaranteed. Before signing with the Chiefs, Kenneth Walker spent the past four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, eherr he was able to reach 1,000 rushing yards twice.
He also just helped the team lift the Lombardi Trophy with one of the best performances by a running back in recent Super Bowl history this past season. Walker ran for 135 yards on 27 carries while adding 26 receiving yards on top of that in a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
Injuries have been an issue for Walker since he entered the NFL as a second-round pick in 2022. 2025 was the first time Walker managed to play full season, where he rushed for 1,027 yards (4.6 per carry) and five touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 282 yards.
The Chiefs, who missed the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era last season, were in desperate need of a running back going into the off-season. While they did have Isaiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt the last two seasons, the run game just was not good enough. Part of the reason Mahomes got injured was because of how much extra work he had to pick up in the running game, so adding Kenneth Walker to this team should help alleviate some of that.
