Some troubling news for Puka Nacua and the Rams.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is week to week after sustaining a knee injury in practice, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The injury isn’t considered serious according to reports, and good news is Puka should be ready to go for Week 1.

McVay said Nacua, “really just had a little bit of a bursa sac, kind of burst it.”  McVay also added that there’s, “nothing serious, nothing structurally wrong.”

Nacua made an early exit from Sunday’s joint practice with the Chargers — exactly five weeks before the Rams’ season opener — and was deemed week to week shortly thereafter. So this could make him miss anywhere from one week to a month, depending on how fast he heals.

Nacua was sensational as a rookie last year for the Rams. Nacua had 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. The catch and yardage totals set new league records for rookie pass-catchers.

His excellent rookie season netted him second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. He also finished second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, behind Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The Rams will open their season on September 9th against the Detroit Lions. Detroit ended the Rams 2023 season in the wildcard round.
