Florida hosted Tennessee on Tuesday night and came into the game taking no prisoners. The number 1 team in the nation, Tennessee, was held to only 15 first half points as well as only making 12 shots total. Shooting the ball 21.4% on the night.

Florida would torch the Volunteers winning the game by 30 points, 73-43. The Gators did so without having a great shooting night themselves. It was all about the defense.

Florida shot the ball only 30% from behind the arc, and 39.7% total going 27-68 from the field.

We have all heard the term STATEMENT WIN, and this might be the biggest statement thus far of the season. Tennessee was the last undefeated team remaining across the nation and Florida just held them to 43 points. WOW!

This is the third home win in a row for Florida against Tennessee.

This being even more surprising after Tennessee beat Arkansas on Saturday by around the same margin, 76-52. While Florida scored 100 points in a 6 point loss to Kentucky, 106-100.

Tennessee with travel to Austin on Saturday and look to bounce back against a struggling Texas Longhorn team.

Meanwhile the Florida Gators get to go play a pissed off Arkansas team on Saturday who will be looking to prove a lot.

The SEC might be the deepest and best conference in basketball this season and last night’s blowout win from Florida, Georgia, and Auburn prove just that.
