This is a huge loss for the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens star cornerback Marlon Humphrey is slated to undergo surgery today (8/16). This is to repair a lingering issue in his foot.

According to Ian Rapoport, the 27 year old corner is expected to miss the beginning of the regular season. Rapoport’s tweet said “#Ravens All-Pro CB Marlon Humphrey is dealing with a foot injury and he’s expected to have surgery today, sources say. The hope is he’s back in a little over a month. So, out for the first couple games.”

Baltimore is thin at corner as of right now, so they could not afford this loss. Humphrey was drafted by the Ravens in the first round of the 2017 draft and has been there since. He has been a huge part of their secondary room, and they could use him back soon.

The Ravens open up their season with AFC North and South play. The first four games go Houston Texans, then follow that up with games against division foe Cincinnati Bengals, the Indianapolis Colts, and finally another division foe in the Cleveland Browns.
