Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced Tuesday that Joey Bosa pulled his calf and will likely be sidelined until training camp, according to ‘s Ian Rapoport.

The Bills had just signed Bosa to a one year, $12.6-million contract that contained $12 million in guaranteed money this offseason.

The Los Angeles Chargers released the 29-year-old this year after having him there for nine seasons.

Bosa has had issues with injuries over his career, especially as of late. He has played a combined 28 games over the last three years and has only played a full season in two of his nine career seasons.

The veteran recorded five sacks in 2024. He hasn’t exceeded 10 sacks since 2021.

Joey Bosa is now not the only issue the Bills are dealing with. Running back James Cook did not attend voluntary organized team activities, McDermott said, according to ESPN. Cook wants a new contract and is entering the final season of his rookie deal, but GM Brandon Beane has made it clear in other interviews he would like to bring a cook back.

McDermott added that he’s staying in touch with Cook and that the running back “will be here when he’s ready to be here.”
