The first Sunday of the NFL season is upon us, and man does it feel good to be back. We have some really intriguing and exciting matchups, as well as so many rookies we want to watch. Sunday of Week 1 is here, so let’s have some fun and make some money!

Here are my plays for NFL Sunday Week 1.

Check out the latest episodes of the JCPod for my full breakdowns and analysis. All odds are a mix/the best number from FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.

Straights

Steelers -2.5 (-122)

This game is a double revenge game, as both sides quarterbacks will be facing the team they played for last year. While this game could probably go either way and is one of the lowest totals in the last five years, I do like the Steelers to win this one. I think the Steelers defense is slightly better and I trust in the Steelers offense do just enough to help their defense and win this game. I love that this number is -2.5 points, as I think about a field goal seems right for this game.

This should be a fun game if you like defensive battles. It will also be interesting to see the connection between Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf.

Colts moneyline (-108)

I do think that the Colts will be able to pull this out against the Dolphins. Both teams are in a similar boat, as there is major urgency to win games for these franchises. I actually think Daniel Jones will have a pretty good game, as there has been so much noise in Indianapolis about the quarterback situation that he should be as motivated as ever. This would be a perfect opportunity for him to prove the doubters wrong. I also like the additions at defensive back the Colts got.

The Dolphins have a good offense, but I’m not too sure what to expect from their defense. I also think Tyler Warren could have a big game for the Colts in his debut. This is a massive game for both teams, and I look for the Colts to pull out a victory at home.

Panthers +3.5 (-105)

This game is very interesting. I’m very excited to see Travis Hunter and his debut for the Jaguars. I’m also very interested to see how Bryce Young will do after the way he ended last season. This will also be a new look for the Jaguars as they have a new Head Coach and General Manager heading into the season. I am very scared of the Panthers defense, as they may not be a very good unit this year.

However, I do think that the Panthers can keep this game close. I like getting this number at 3.5 points, so I will be taking the Panthers to keep this within a field goal. I’m curious to see how Trevor Lawrence looks in the first game of the year post last years injury.

Bills moneyline (+102)

The one thing that does concern me about taking the Bills is their defensive back situation. Past that, I just find it hard not to bet on Josh Allen at basically plus money IN BUFFALO. While I will not be shocked at all in the Ravens win, I just enjoy the value you can get with the Bills at home here.

Player Props

Daniel Jones over 23.5 rush yards (-114)

Daniel Jones usually runs around a good amount in games he plays in. 23.5 rush yards feel a bit too low for how often he runs the ball, and I see the Colts using him a good amount in the run game

Tyler Warren over 35.5 receiving yard (-114)

I expect Tyler Warren to be involved a good amount in his debut. The Colts have been lacking a weapon at the tight end position for a while now, and they were very excited about the opportunity to draft Tyler Warren. This total also feels a tad low, as I see him going for around 45-50 receiving yards.

Travis Hunter over 47.5 receiving yards (-114)

I expect the Jaguars to get Hunter involved a good amount in his debut. I like any number under 60 receiving yards for Travis Hunter.

Jahmyr Gibbs anytime touchdown (-125)

I like for Gibbs to find his way into the endzone against the Packers. One thing I’m curious to see is how the new offensive coordinator uses the Gibbs-David Montgomery combo.

Josh Allen anytime touchdown (+100)

I assume at some point in this game, Josh Allen will be scoring a rushing touchdown. It may be with QB power, could be a tush push, maybe even a scramble. I just expect that if the Bills get near the goal line, Josh Allen will be a weapon they may use.

Christian McCaffrey anytime touchdown (-120)

It’s not very often that you see Christian McCaffrey‘s touchdown prop at this low of odds. He may be dealing with some injury issues, but if he’s playing in the game, I expect the 49ers to use him in the redzone.

Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day

For this Sunday NFL Nasty Boy, we will be keeping up the tradition we do every year to kick off the first Sunday of the season. I will going all touchdowns scorers here.

I was able to get odds of +1992

  • Josh Allen anytime touchdown (+100)
  • Tyler Warren anytime touchdown (+280)
  • James Conner anytime touchdown (-165)
  • Ashton Jeanty anytime touchdown (-140)

Let’s have a DAY! PLEASE GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY
