We got some good ol Monday Night Football action to end Week One of the NFL. We will see the San Francisco 49ers the home turf against the New York Jets.
Here are my plays for the game.
Check out the latest episodes of the JCPod and Captain By A Hook for my full breakdowns. All odds are a mix/the best number from FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.
Straights
Jets +4 (-110)
I will admit, I am a bit nervous about this one. Last year, Aaron Rodgers got hurt four plays in. This year, I expected to be a bit different. If he can play a whole game there’s so much potential this Jets offense could have.
Meanwhile, the 49ers have been dealing with an interesting off-season. Brandon Aiyuk held out for a long time, Trent Williams held out for a long time, and Christian McCaffrey has been dealing with injury. While they’re still the 49ers and will probably still be good, I will look for it maybe to take bit to get the kinks worked out. While the 49ers may still win, I look for the Jets to least be able to keep it close and within a field goal.
Props
Breece Hall anytime touchdown (+120)
This one just feels like a no-brainer. Breece one of the best players, if not the best player the Jets have. Now with Aaron Rodgers back, it should hopefully add a lot less pressure for him in the run game. If this is the case, I look for Breece Hall to find the end zone tonight.
George Kittle anytime touchdown (+200)
When it comes to finding a 49ers player, I admit I was struggling a bit. While giving out Christian McCaffrey anytime could be easy for the record, -170 doesn’t feel like a number I want to bet or give out. Instead, I will look for one of the targets that have been there all throughout this training camp.
While there are so many weapons on this score, maybe George Kittle will find a way to get loose in the middle and get free for a touchdown. I am a bit nervous for this one, but at least we are getting decent odds at +200.
Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day
Gus Edwards gave us the first heartbreak of the year last night. The worst part? I wanted to put Kyren Williams instead of Gus Edwards, but I kept the night game separate from the rest of the games (what a genius move that was). So while Kyren scored, Gus did not and we fell short by one leg. We look to bounce back tonight with one last chance to hit a nasty boy in Week One. Lets find some magic in this Monday Night Football matchup.
We got one touchdown scorer, a rushing prop, and two passing props.
I was able to get odds of +720:
- Breece Hall anytime touchdown (+120)
- Garrett Wilson over 50 receiving yards (-240)
- Tyler Conklin over 3 Receptions (-220)
- Brock Purdy over 8.5 rush yards (-110)
