This situation between the Indianapolis Colts and Jonathan Taylor now is in murky waters.

Jim Irsay originally came out and said “we are not trading Taylor now, and we are not trading him in October.” It now seems that this opinion has changed. Per Ian Rapoport, the Colts are allowing Jonathan Taylor to seek a trade. The Colts are looking for a first round quick or a package of picks similar in value.

Taylor is coming off an injury riddled season. The season before, he was an MVP candidate. Everything was fine in April, as Jonathan Taylor issued a statement on April 19th saying he was all in before he switched agents. Since this switch, everything has seemed to change and he has been at odds with the Colts and Irsay.

From Irsay’s criticism of the running back market to the market just being low, there seems to be no true answer as to whether the Colts and Taylor will make a deal.

I personally do not see him taking the Le’Veon Bell call to action and sitting out. I am, however , very nervous about his return to the Colts. There is some interest outside the Colts. The issue with signing Taylor is he will most likely be looking for a long term deal with the team he is traded to.

There is still hope amongst Colts fans that this situation could get resolved. But it being this close to the start of the season, there is not a lot of time left.
