The Boston Red Sox just won two out of three against the Houston Astros. Now sitting only 3.5 games back from an AL Wild Card Spot. If we really want to dream as Red Sox fans, Boston is currently only 6.5 games back from division leading New York Yankees.
Rafael Devers has led the way for the Red Sox. On the season he has hit 27 home runs, 77 RBI’s, and a .294 batting average. While Jarren Duren leads the team in runs and stolen bases with 88 runs and 32 stolen bases.
Boston has played six series so far in the month of August. Where they only loss one, a three game sweep to the hands of the Astros two weeks ago.
The Red Sox started off the month of August taking two of three from the Rangers and Royals before the sweep to the Astros. Then taking another two out of three against the Rangers and after leaving a four game series with the Orioles tied 2-2 they get a chance to get their get back against Houston.
Boston Red Sox Looking to Finish Strong
Boston is prepared to start a three game series at home this weekend against the Arizona Diamondbacks before playing five games in four days against the Blue Jays.
The Red Sox are 3.5 games behind both the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals. Having two teams they have a chance in catching and stealing a playoff spot from.
Keep an eye out for this team. The old saying goes, “it is all about playing your best ball at the right time!”.
