Rhode Island basketball defeated the Yale Bulldogs tonight to improve their undefeated record to 8-0. In Archie Miller’s third season as head coach, the entire nation should be shaking in their boots at just the thought of running into this Rams team in March.
This team does all the little things a team needs to do to secure victories. The rebound the basketball at a high level, they make their free throws at a high percentage, and they have what this generation calls dogs on both ends.
David Green and Sebastian Thomas led the way tonight for the Rams, who won by 6 without a great team shooting night.
Green finished the game with 9 rebounds to go along with his game high 26. While Thomas scored 20 points with 6 assist and 3 rebounds.
Yale’s starters brought the heat, with 4 of them scoring in double digits. John Poulakidas had the second most points in the game with 25.
Rhode Island Basketball 8-0 with A Lot to Prove
You cannot argue with 8-0 very hard, however the fact is the Rams are 6-0 at home and have only faced two quality opponents. Those being, Yale and College of Charleston.
Their next matchup will be another chance to prove something, still at home, yet they play Providence.
All in all, there is still a lot of basketball left to played, and a lot to prove for Archie Miller and the Rams. However, this team is definitely my favorite to win the A-10 conference.
Also expect this team to do a little bit of dancing come March, at least in the first round.
