When it comes to offense, you will not get very far if you do not have a good offensive line. The big boys up front are not brought up until it matters most, but they should be talked about more. Here are the top four groups headed into 2023.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

  • LT Jordan Mailata, LG Landon Dickerson, C Jason Kelce, RG Cam Jurgens, RT Lane Johnson

This unit was the best in the NFL last year, and they look to do the same again this year. With future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce leading the way in the middle, these big boys were a huge part of why the Eagles offense was so successful.

Being top five in almost every offensive stat, the Eagles were a machine last year. Even after some minor turnover, this group looks to be the best heading into the 2023 season.

2. Cleveland Browns

  • LT Jedrick Wills Jr., LG Joel Bitonio, C Ethan Pocic, RG Wyatt Teller, RT Jack Conklin

If Deshaun Watson has his struggles again in 2023, it won’t likely be because of the Browns’ offensive line. The Browns have the best guard combo in the NFL, while having very good tackles and a center. This unit is led by their offensive line Coach Bill Callahan, who is one of the best in the NFL.

Nick Chubb is a machine on the ground, and the big fellas up front help pave the way for him. Their center had a career year last year, and Joel Bitonio continues to be an All-Pro guard. This unit looks to have a really good season this year.

3. Atlanta Falcons

  • LT Jake Matthews, LG Matthew Bergeron, C Drew Dalman, RG Chris Lindstrom, RT Kaleb McGary

The Falcons had one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL last year, and this unit was a major part of it. Arthur Smith’s run and play-action-heavy offense makes things a bit easier for offensive linemen, but they still execute it at a high level.

The rookie left guard looks to fill a spot that was a bit of an issue for the Falcons last year. With Desmond Ridder going into year two, this unit will have a huge role in helping Ridder stay safe back there. This will be a very fun unit to watch all season.

4. Detroit Lions

  • LT Taylor Decker, LG Jonah Jackson, C Frank Ragnow, RG Halapoulivaati Vaitai, RT Penei Sewell

There is a lot of hype around the Lions, and the offensive line is quite a big reason why. Decker and Sewell make for one of the best tackle tandems in the NFL. There’s a very good chance that only Mailata and Johnson of the Eagles are better. Ragnow only allowed one sack last season, and looks to be one of the best centers in football.

With so much hype around this team, they can feel good to know that they should not have to worry about an offensive line. While there may be issues here and there, this unit looks to be really productive in 2023.
