Today is one of those days that do not come by often, one of those days where I do not really like any picks I have. So I am going to do what any wise man would do, bet em all.

Just kidding, I am going to stay away from every bet but two. Just a heads up, one of these games starts before your normal lunch time.

The Red Beard: MLB Bets

First Bet: A Lunch Time Over

The first game of the day today is a matchup that starts at 11:35 central time between the Miami Marlins and the Cincinnati Reds. Both teams who had a hot streak cool off recently.

The Reds offense when rolling however can hit this over by them selves. With the help of veteran pitcher Johnny Cueto on the mound added a little more interest from me on this bet.

Also the Reds are putting young gun Graham Ashcraft on the mound who has an ERA above 5. If I had to bet a side in this game, I would take the Reds by a lot. Which is why I am on the over.

Give the me the Reds putting up 8+ on their own today and the Marlins chipping in to cover the over 9.5. (Marlins/Reds O 9.5 -125)

Second Bet: Keep the Curse Going

The day after news broke of Kevin Brown being suspended by Baltimore, the Astros hit a grand slam to win the game against them in the 9th inning. They needed every one of those four runs to do so. Trailing 6-3 going into the 9th inning, birthing the Kevin Brown curse upon the franchise.

All jokes aside, it is August, a veteran team like the Astros is gearing up for another championship run. I am betting experience vs youth around this time of year.

Also with Jack Flaherty (8-6, 4.28) taking the mound for the O’s tonight after trying to find himself all year with the Cardinals and Christian Javier (7-2, 4.39) starting for the Stros, I think this is a great spot to back to reigning champs.

Give me the Astros on the money line at even money tonight. (Astros ML EVEN)

MLB Bets: Recap

Marlins/Reds Over 9.5 -125
