The Red Beard: MLB Bets

After a bit of a slow week where we are I believe 5-5, let’s shake some things up. I am taking an odd number of bets today. I have two early games and one for this evening on the diamond.
If you are not familiar with my show, “Captain By A Hook with The Red Beard” on youtube, that is where I have been giving out my bets all season.
MLB Bets: (08/10/2023)
First Bet: Two Good Pitchers and a High Total
The Baltimore Orioles have been dealing with a lot this week. On and off the field, I was joking yesterday about a Kevin Brown curse plaguing them.
However today is back to reality, and as bad as I want to fade the O’s the rest of the year. The truth is, this team has some talent. Today they are putting their best statistical pitcher on the mound in Dean Kremer (10-4, 4.61).
He will face the guy dubbed “the next Verlander”, outrageously, I might add. However I do like his arm and knowledge of pitching at such a young age.
In this rubber match with two decent arms taking the start I will be on the under here. Since it is above 9.
Give me the under 9 and the hook on this one -115. (Astros/Orioles U 9.5 -115)
Second Bet: Elder-berry
For some reason I have gotten into this trance of betting the Braves a lot this season. Oh yeah I know why, they are the best team in baseball.
However I have also been tailing this Bryce Elder kid in every one of his starts. He is 8-3 thus far with an ERA of 3.43.
There is a “trend” I have seen on twitter about the Pirates being 8-0 in the last 8 games after a Mitch Keller start. He started yesterday.
Today Bailey Falter (0-7, 4.87) is taking the bump for Pittsburgh. As well as the Pirates playing the Braves tough all week long. “I ain’t scared” as my father would say when the Saints would be down going into the 4th.
However I am sticking to my guns, I believe Braves will have the breakout game of this series and win this on comfortably.
Give me the run line and all of the juice that comes with it. (Braves -1.5 -130)
Third Bet: Fade Corbin, Always
Fade Corbin, always. That is a truth that I will follow until he retires, especially as long as he is on the Nationals.
On top of the Phillies having a historic night last night with the no hitter against the Nats, I love this pitching matchup in favor of Philadelphia.
Patrick Corbin (7-11, 5.03) taking on Aaron Nola (9-8, 4.58). I am betting on the Phillies to get up early and hold the lead late.
Give me Philadelphia on the run line at home tonight to close this series out in style. (Phillies -1.5 -120)
MLB Bets: Recap
Astros/Orioles U 9.5 -115
Braves -1.5 -130
Phillies -1.5 -120
