MLB Bets: (08/14/2023)
Starting the week off with a bang, as there are a number of games that I like on this beautiful Monday. There are even two games that I like that I am not taking, and I still have 5 quality bets for you today.
The Red Beard: MLB Bets
First Bet: Reigning Champs on the RL
The Houston Astros are taking on the Miami Marlins who have had a surprisingly great season to their standards thus far. The Marlins even came back from a 7-2 deficit yesterday against the New York Yankees to win.
However, I am going to ride the Astros in August and September, and October for that matter.
Framber Valdez (9-7, 3.30) the ace is taking the mound, going up against a good young pitcher in the lefty Braxton Garrett (6-3, 4.08).
Give me the Astros on the run line at plus money. (Astros -1.5 +115)
Second Bet: The Other Texas team
The Texas Rangers have been one of the best teams in baseball all season long. They have gotten light years better since adding pitching depth at the trade deadline.
Part of that depth is none other that Max Scherzer (11-4, 3.88) who will take the bump tonight against the struggling Angels of Anaheim.
Since the start of August the Angels have struggled against any opponent and I look for that to continue against the best team in their division.
Give me the Rangers at home on the run line. (Rangers -1.5 +115)
MLB Bets: The Late Games
Third Bet: Sleepless on the Run Line
Seattle might be the best team since the calendar hit August. Tonight they travel to Kansas City to take on a struggling Royals team.
Also, they have one of their best pitchers starting today in Logan Gilbert (10-5, 3.66). I look for him to have a stellar performance against a sneaky above average lineup in the Royals.
Mariners who have won 8 out of their last 10 peaked my interest tonight. Even though I do like the Pirates against the Mets, and the Braves against the Yanks.
Give me the Mariners on the run line. (Mariners -1.5 +115)
Fourth Bet: The Giants of San Francisco
The Tampa Bay Rays have been a little better than .500 since the start of June after starting the season off on fire.
They also have some off field stuff going on at the moment which is stopping their best player in Wander Franco to miss the series in San Francisco.
With the Giants being pretty good at home since the start of July, I really feel something rolling in the bay.
Give me the Giants on the money line at home tonight at plus money. (Giants ML +120)
Fifth Bet: Fireworks in San Diego
Two of the best offenses in the league will take the field against each other tonight in San Diego. One of them who is great on paper and the other in the Orioles who has been great statistically.
I look for both of these pitchers to struggle tonight early, and I am hoping for one of those west coast nights where the ball just flies.
Give me a high scoring affair between the Padres and O’s, I am taking the over 8.5. (Orioles/Padres O 8.5 EVEN)
