MLB Wild Card Bets.

The 2023 MLB season has come to an end, now it is time for what some call the most majestic baseball to ever be played. October baseball.
It feels like any one of these wildcard teams can make it to the divisional round. Also, once there either one of the 8 teams can make a run at a title.
How about the Astros swooping in on the final day of the season to steal the AL West division and a wildcard bye.
I talked all season about liking either the Astros, Dodgers, and mostly the Braves as the best team in baseball. This is where they prove who is the best. I can not lie looking at the potential matchups in this bracket, there is no such thing as an easy road.
MLB Wild Card Bets
This is what I am betting in the Wild Card round, and why.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers
This series is two teams on the complete opposite spectrum of baseball right now. You have the up and coming D-Backs who are looking to prove that they belong in the playoffs. A team full of youth, hope, and excitement just to be playing baseball in October.
Then you have the Brewers who have been in contention for the last 5-6 seasons, with the same core of hitters and pitchers. Looking to get over the hump, wondering if this will be the year.
Before the season, I picked the Diamondbacks to not only make the playoffs as a wildcard team, but to also make a run in the playoffs.
One team who is molding their core, and another who is more likely to break it up than bring it back.
Pitching:
The Brewers has yet to announce the starters for this series, however one could guess who it will be. The order they come out, maybe not so much. You have to imagine Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, and Brandon Woodruff will take the bump in this series.
Three high quality pitchers who have proven themselves in postseasons past. The Diamondbacks have a dynamic two headed snake in Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly. However they announced rookie Brandon Pfaadt will take the bump to start game one.
Is Torey Lovullo insane, or a mad genius? I think the first fits better. Pfaadt has struggled mightily in his rookie year against professional hitting.
My biggest fear in this series will be over by the 4th inning of the first game.
Batting:
This is where the D-Backs have an advantage I believe. I know they are very young and most of these players have yet to have a chance to become a house hold name.
Yet, maybe that youth will play to their favor. These kids are too young and dumb to even realize what they are up against. This Diamondback lineup is full of fire, speed, and again, youth.
The Brewers have proved all season they can struggle on offense. If they do not put the desert snakes away early in these games, look for some late inning magic to start brewing for the D-Backs.
This team has a lineup full of capable hitters. My only concern is that I have watched Arizona struggle to brings runners home over the last two seasons.
If the Brewers let them hang around, if the D-Backs pitching can give this group a chance, if Arizona can get those timely RBI hits… If, if, if. I like the Diamondbacks due to the youth. I can see something special in this Diamondbacks team, get ready for the fire works.
MLB Wild Card Bets: The Red Beard: Diamondbacks vs Brewers
Give me the young team too dumb to realize they are not supposed to win. Arizona Diamondbacks +154 to win series.
