CBB Power Rankings 01/16/2024.

This article is going to be exactly what it sounds like from the title. Every Tuesday I will release my top 10 college basketball teams in the country according to my power rankings.
Last year while UConn was never ranked number one nationally, I had them as the number team for stretches last season.
My rankings unlike the Ap and Coaches polls are based on two completely separate things. I focus more on gambling and the tournament. For example, the best record, or run does not phase me. The chemistry and rebounding will tell me more about how deep a team will go in March.
Which is what I focus this weekly power rankings on. How good are you against the spread? How deep do I think you can go in March?
CBB Power Rankings
- UNC
- UConn
- Purdue
- Kentucky
- Duke
- Memphis
- Kansas
- Auburn
- Houston
- Utah State
- Wisconsin
- Oregon
- Grand Canyon
For the first time ever, I had to show love to some teams that deserve it and add three teams to my top ten.
Wisconsin is at the moment number one in the mighty Big 10 and undefeated in conference play. Oregon also undefeated and at the top of their conference, the Pac-12.
Grand Canyon only have one loss, had to get a shout out.
I have UNC at 1 over UConn, because of the depth and defense at the moment. Over the last four games,, North Carolina has to be the undisputed best team in the country.
A lot of blue bloods on this list, with Kansas being pushed down to number 7 is all about offense. This Kansas team struggles to get over 65 points in games this season and has zero reliable players to get a bucket.
Kentucky, Duke, Memphis, and Auburn has been hot both at home and on the road. While Houston dropping two in a row has to be pointed out.
Wrapping up the top 10, Utah State is on a historic 15 game winning streak and bring their undefeated conference record on the road tomorrow night in a huge one against New Mexico.
The college basketball season is just getting warmed up, yet it is already on fire.
