UCLA and Marquette went at it last night, in the late game in Honolulu. This game was a tale of two halves with the victor being Marquette by two points, 71-69.

The first half UCLA looked to steal the game, being up as many as 12. Towards the end of the first half, Marquette found their footing and closed the gap to 5 going into halftime.

In the second half Marquette brought the momentum over from the first, and came out the gates smoking hot. By the time it was all said and done, UCLA fell short of stealing a win from the number 4 team in the nation.

Marquette had three players in double digits as well as point guard Tyler Kolek having a poor man’s double-double. Kolek finished the game with 9 points and 9 assist to go along with his 5 rebounds.

David Joplin lead the way for the Golden Eagle with 19 points. Oso Ighodaro dropped 14 points and Kam Jones scored 12 points himself.

Sebastian Mack had a game high of 25 points as well as 6 rebounds for UCLA. Adem Bona tallied 13 points and Lazar Stefanovic scored 11 of his own points.

This was a March Madness game in November, boy oh boy, what a treat.
