The New Orleans Saints are re-signing pass-rusher Chase Young to a three-year, $51-million contract, sources told Ian Rapoport..

The 25-year-old was considered one of the top edge rushers available on the free-agent market this year.

Young just finished his first year in New Orleans after joining the team on a one-year, $13-million deal last offseason. He totaled 5.5 sacks and 31 tackles while also appearing in every single game for the Saints last season.

The Washington Commanders drafted Young second overall in 2020. The former Ohio State Buckeye was selected to his lone Pro Bowl of his career in 2020 and also claimed Defensive Rookie of the Year honors that same year.

Young spent four seasons in Washington but missed significant stretches of the 2021 and 2022 seasons due to injury. He was then traded to the San Francisco 49ers in the middle of the 2023 season ahead of their run to the Super Bowl.

Young has 22 sacks across 60 career games.
