The Dallas Cowboys and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams have agreed to a three-year, $105.9-million contract extension, the Cowboys have announced.
Williams’ new deal will include $63.35 million guaranteed at signing, which is now the new the highest-ever total for a defensive tackle, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Williams was asked in July if he wanted to remain in Dallas long term and responded, “I definitely want to be here for the long haul.” All indications flared that the Dallas Cowboys were thrilled to get this deal done and keep Quinnen Williams around.
Williams signed a four-year, $96-million extension with the Jets in July 2023 that didn’t include any guaranteed salary in 2027, the final year of the deal, according to Over the Cap.
The Cowboys had acquired Williams in a trade with the New York Jets last November. During his time with Dallas last year he recorded nine QB hits, three tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in seven games with Dallas.
Williams has tallied 41.5 total sacks across seven NFL seasons. He was named a first-team All-Pro in 2022 after posting a career-high 12 sacks.
Quinnen is the latest defensive tackle to secure a significant raise this offseason after the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Carter and the Tennessee Titans’ Jeffery Simmons also got massive deals done.
