The Green Bay Packers have engaged in trade talks around cornerback Jaire Alexander and are willing to deal him for the right price, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Teams involved in the talks for Alexander haven’t been reported, but the Packers are willing to part with Alexander.
Jaire Alexander has appeared in just 14 games over the last two seasons due to injuries. He’s also only played in one full season (that being 2019), since being selected 18th overall in the 2018 draft.
The 28-year-old has 12 interceptions, 70 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries in 78 career games for the Packers. He’s been named a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro twice (2020, 2022).
Alexander is under contract for two more seasons. The Packers would free up $6.8 million in cap space if they dealt Alexander before June 1st, which is a move they are looking to do.
With how talented Alexander has shown to be, there will for sure be times lined up to acquire him. The question will be for what price??
