Big East Conference play has started off hot, only two days into the conference schedule two top ten teams have fallen. Marquette fell to Providence, then 24 hours later, UConn falls to Seton Hall. Both Marquette and UConn were on the road, proving the Big East will be one of the toughest conference’s to play in this season.

Seton Hall’s defense held UConn to only 60 points, their lowest total score of the season. The Pirates shot the ball 51.8% from the field attacking the basket, only shooting 8 three’s in total.

The Pirates of Seton Hall wins the game, 75-60.

Seton Hall Beats UConn

Seton Hall led by their defense and 11 steals held UConn to their lowest scoring performance all season. Allowing only two players for UConn in double digits while the Pirates put up 75 points led by Kadary Richmond and Dre Davis.

Richmond, who scored 23 points to lead Seton Hall to victory while also grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 5 assist. Davis scored 17 points with 5 rebounds.

Al-Amir Dawes chipped in 11 points with 3 boards. Jaden Bediako came within one rebound short of a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

Outside of Tristen Newton and Donovan Clingan having an average night the Huskies were shut down.

Seton Hall’s impressive defense in their Big East opener puts the rest of the league on notice. Seton Hall is one place a team does not want to play.
