San Francisco 49ers’ star pass rusher Nick Bosa will now be missing the rest of the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL, sources told Adam Schefter.

Bosa went down in the first quarter of Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. He appeared to signal the seriousness of the injury with a thumbs-down gesture to the crowd on his way to the locker room. Being a guy who is very in tune with his body, you knew immediately this was not good.

This is now Bosa’s second ACL tear in the same knee, as the first occurring in a Week 2 game in 2020. This is according to Schefter.

Bosa entered the Week 3 matchup with two sacks in two games.

His injury is the latest to impact the 49ers, who have been really batting the injury bug. San Francisco has already been without Brock Purdy, George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, and Brandon Aiyuk for portions of the season already. It is now only Week Four.

Without Bosa, the 49ers defense will be even more dependent on young players and new additions. Rookie Mykel Williams, Bryce Huff, Yetur Gross-Matos and Sam Okuayinonu are the remaining defensive ends on the roster with Robert Beal Jr. and Trevis Gispon on the practice squad.
