The 2025 NFL regular season will kick off with the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4.
It’s the first division rivalry matchup to start a regular season since the Green Bay Packers played the Chicago Bears in 2019. Breaking from tradition that year, the NFL spotlighted its oldest and most-played rivalry to kick off the league’s 100th season.
The 2025 season opener will feature Dak Prescott’s return, as the Cowboys quarterback missed Dallas’ final games last year due to injury, and is slated to be good to go by the opener.
The Eagles swept their season series against the Cowboys in 2024 for the first time since 2011. Philadelphia dominated in the series, outscoring Dallas 75-13 in the two games last season. Philadelphia has also won three of the past four meetings in the rivalry.
