Betting breakdown and preview for the National League, MLB Divisions.

The All-Star break is over boys and it is time to get back up on that saddle and finish this thing called the 2024 season. There are MLB divisions in interesting places as far as standings go. If you look at just the betting odds you would think most of these divisions are already decided.

Well, as the old saying goes, that is why they play the game!

MLB Divisions – National League

NL EAST

Let’s jump right into it, this division is one of my favorites to watch. Mostly because of the fans of these teams and the passion in which they root for them.

We have a Acuna-less Braves team in Atlanta who has been one of the best teams in the entire league for the last five seasons chasing the Phillies. Who have been in the mix the last 3 post seasons.

Then we cannot forget about the Metropolitans up there in New York who went into the All-Star Break as one of the hottest teams in the league.

Phillies hold at the top of the division right now with a 8.5 game lead of the Braves. Also, they are -600 as the favorites to win.

I do not know why, maybe it is the way this team in 2022 chased down the Mets to win this division at the last weekend of the season. Yet, there is something in my screaming to bet the Braves to do that again to the Phillies this season, even without hope of Acuna returning.

Braves are +470 currently.

Is it disrespectful to not even mention the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins?

NL CENTRAL

Now this is a division, one of those MLB divisions where any and everybody has at least a little bit of a chance to win it. Although, the Brewers are a hard team to bet against.

The Brewers are sitting at -300 right now to win this division and have a 4.5 game lead over the second place Cardinals who sit at +450.

A 6.5 game lead over the third place Pirates who sit at +1800.

An 8 game lead over the Reds who sit at +2900.

Lastly, an 8.5 game lead over the Cubs, who have the third place odds at +1200.

When the team in last place of the division has the third best odds to win it, you know any and everything can happen over the second half of this season. My money would be on the favorites however, until proven other wise, they are the best team in the division.

NL WEST

The Brooklyn Bums, or the Los Angeles Trolly Dodgers are huge favorites as always to walk away with the NL West division title. However, they are quote unquote struggling as far as Dodgers teams are concerned. Going into the break on a 3-7 slide.

Sitting at -3000 to win the division, the real question is which one of these teams is going to challenge them for the title.

Diamondbacks and Padres are both 7 games back as well as both team struggling to find any rhythm yet this season. D-Backs priced at +3000 while the Fathers of San Diego are priced a tad shorter at +2500.

You can never forget about the Giants in this division, however sitting 9 games back and at +10000, it is kind of hard to take them serious right now.

Honestly, don’t the Dodgers just hit the gear switch and win this division by 9+ games as usual?

Look for MLB Divisions, American League.
