Memphis Basketball has Fallen Apart like a good Brisket.

Coming into this college basketball season, one of the teams I was the highest on was the Memphis Tigers coached by Penny Hardaway and lead by 11 transfers.
I was strongly arguing all of November, December, and even most of January that this will be a Final Four team.
Now going into the last week of February, this teams hopes of even making the tournament lie on one thing. A conference tournament title.
As of now they have zero hope of winning the regular season conference title or even being thought of as an at large bid.
Memphis Basketball Falling off the Bone
The day was January 21st, less than a month ago today, and Memphis Basketball is in control of their own destiny. They are ranked number 10 in the nation and have one of the best defenses in the sport.
Then boom, like a bad movie, or a poorly knit sweater, everything became unraveled. Memphis went on to lose 4 in a row, dropping out of the top 25. Still I had hope.
They would go on a three game winning streak before losing the last two in ugly fashion. Losing to North Texas 76-66 and then to SMU 106-79.
Penny Hardaway came into the post game conference with an attitude we have yet to see. He urged his players and tried to light a fire under them. He questioned their commitment to not only the program, but to themselves.
The Tigers are only 3-4 against quad 1 opponents, 18-8 overall, and 7-6 in conference play. A conference that on paper is very weak.
With 5 games left in the regular season it is apparent that desperate times are looming with Memphis Basketball.
