The reigning NL Champions, Arizona Diamondbacks made some off season moves thinking that they got better. At the halfway mark of the season, that did not seem to be the case. They trade for Josh Bell at the deadline and BOOM, dynamite.
Josh Bell stepped up to the plate and made an immediate impact at the plate giving the Diamondbacks some energy. Bell hit two home runs in his first game for Arizona, and has been on fire for the desert snakes.
In his first eight games and 30 plate appearances, Bell has a slash line of .267/.333/.733 with an OPS of 1.066. He has hit a total of four homeruns over that stretch.
Going back to before the trade, Bell hit that zone athletes talk about here and there, in the zone!
In his last fifteen games he has a slash line of .429/.515/.1.000.
The energy Bell has brought this ball club is affecting the wins and losses positively also. Over the last 10 games, Arizona is 8-2.
Currently the D-Backs are 3.5 games back from the big brother of the division, LA Dodgers. Also Arizona is holding a wild card spot if the season ended today.
Can Josh Bell and the other off season moves help Arizona repeat as NL Champions? Only time will tell, yet, one thing is for sure, Josh Bell was the perfect move at the deadline.
