We are into week two of NFL action. With the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Minnesota Vikings, here are my plays for this week 2 Thursday Night Football matchup.

Straights
Eagles -6.5 (-102) Fanduel or -6(-115) DraftKings
Last year, the Eagles dominated this game on defense and had Kirk Cousins flustered all night. I think the same or at least a similar formula will happen in this game. The eagles have a monster front 7 unit. The back end did allow the Patriots to roam around in the second half, and that does scare me against Jefferson and Jordan Addison. That being said, I still like the Eagles to put up 21+ points this game, and do not think the Vikings will score more than 17. The Vikings are also dealing with some injuries on the offensive line, and that’s not a good recipient with a short week. With that being said, I am going to take Eagles with the spread at home on Thursday Night Football.
Player props
Justin Jefferson anytime TD (+105)
When it came to last week, Jefferson went crazy. He went over 150 yards and had 9 receptions. The only thing he was missing was a trip to the endzone. While the scoring will be tough for the Vikings I believe, Jefferson is one of their best options to score. I am going to take a shot on him to reach the endzone for the first time this year. Last year Irv Smith was the only scorer for the Vikings in this game. I do not mind Hockenson to score either, but I am taking my chances with the superstar Justin Jefferson.
Dallas Goedert anytime TD (+220)
If you had this guy in fantasy (like I did), then you may have forgotten the season started. Getting one target with no receptions, Dallas Goedert did nothing for the stat sheet last week. That being said, Nick Sirianni came out and said “we cannot have a game like that happen for Goedert. He is too talented for him to have no receptions.” It was not word for word exactly like that, but Sirianni made sure to come out and say Goedert needs to be more involved. With that being said, I am taking the tight end to score this week. If you want to get nasty with me (and I DO NOT recommend this unless you are okay with the losses) I took him to score twice.
Alexander Mattison over 13.5 receiving yards (-113)
I said it last week and I’ll say it again, I love running back with low receiving totals. Last week, Mattison got 10 yards receiving. I see Kirk Cousins being forced to check down more due to the pass rush and the front of the Eagles. Due to this, I can see Mattison getting this total. One good screen or two to three check downs can reach this total. With him now as the feature back, I love getting this total as low as it is.
Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day
Now sitting at 0-2, I am looking to get a win on the board. There is not too much I like in this game prop wise, so i just tried to keep it simple. This parlay is +1317:
- Goedert TD(+220)
- Eagles -5.5 (-125)
- Goedert over 48.5 rec yards (-114)
- Mattison over 13.5 rec yards (-114)
I bought a point on Fanduel to avoid the tie of a -6. Besides that, I Just decided to combine my picks for today. I will not do this every week, but I just could not find anything else I wanted to risk. Let’s have a fun Thursday Night Football.
