We now enter week 2 of the NFL Season. With one weekend behind us, there is still so much to learn about these teams. Here are my NFL plays for week 2 of the season.

Check out the latest episodes of the JCPod and Captain By A Hook for my full breakdowns. All odds are from Fanduel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.

Straights

Sunday

Colts (+102)

The rumor is CJ Stroud may not play. However, regardless I like the Colts in this matchup. The Colts defense showed out last week against Jacksonville, and had a lot of impressive plays. The front of the defense for the Colts was tough. Meanwhile on offense, Anthony Richardson was exciting and fun to watch. I feel as if the Colts are farther along and more built in their rebuild. Due to that, I am taking the Colts moneyline.

Ravens +3 (or ML) (-104) (+138)

This pick is solely a fade of the Bengals. I feel as if the Bengals will need at least one more week to get ready. Joe Burrow is just getting his second full week of action since his injury. Give me the Ravens to keep it close in the battle of the AFC North. I will also sprinkle on the moneyline.

Dolphins -2.5(-120)

Tua Tagovailoa is 4-0 against Bill Belichick when he has played. I am very nervous about this play, as both of these teams impressed me in week one. The Patriots always seem to lose at least one game to the Dolphins every year. I’m going to ride Tua and his streak, taking the Dolphins -3.

Monday

Steelers +2.5(-110)

I thought the Steeler faced a really tough opponent for a week one game. Meanwhile, the Browns do what they have done as of late, beat the Bengals. I think the Steelers will be able to find more success versus the Browns then they dig against the 49ers. I am shocked the Steelers are the dogs, and I will take them on the spread and moneyline.

PROPS

Saquon Barkley TD (-115)

After a horrible offensive showing last week against the Cowboys, the Giants look to bounce back. Playing the Cardinals, I believe they will have more success. Give me Saquon to score a touchdown.

George Kittle TD (+220)

This is more of a gut feeling, but Kittles’ name popped off the board to me when I was looking at people to score. Looking to beat the Rams for an 8th or 9th straight time, the 49ers will look to score a good amount. Due to this, I am taking Kittle to score.

Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day

So far we are 0-3 on the NFL nasty boy, so I am going for a bit of a home run to see if this will be the boost I/we needed. This parlay is of people who did not score last week, and have odd of +2625:

  • Derrick Henry TD (-165)
  • Saquon Barkley  TD (-120)
  • Travis Kelce TD (-140)
  • Josh Downs TD (+440)

Let’s have a DAY! PLEASE GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY

NFL Bets (non player props) 5-4

NFL Bets (Player Props) 2-2

Nasty Boy Play (NFL) 0-3

*College Records pending as of 9-16-2023*
